When classifying sexual
dysfunction medically, we use the terms:- loss of libido, failure of arousal, erectile
failure, premature or retarded ejaculation, and failure to achieve orgasm. For each of
these failures or for dissatisfaction with your sexual relationship, Optimal
Health has a
comprehensive programme that will help you.
Impotence
Of all the sexual problems men experience,
impotence is perhaps the most troublesome and its effects often ripple into other areas of
a man's life. Largely as a result of the development of Sildenafil (Viagra),
Tidalafil (Cialis), Verdenafil (Levitra) and other medication, its
management is usually more
straight-forward than previously.
Causes of impotence are many and varied, including
diabetes, circulatory disease, alcohol-related disorders, hormonal disorders and certain
medications (notably antidepressants, antihypertensives and diuretics).
Psychological factors can also play a significant role,
particularly stress, severe depression, guilt or anxiety. The emotional side effects
of impotence can be traumatic. As men age, it normally takes longer to get an
erection and requires more physical stimulation to sustain one. This also can become
a source of anxiety, leading ultimately to impotence.
Optimal Health has many years of experience in this specialist
field and offers help through the use of drugs, hormone replacement therapy, psychosexual
therapy or counselling. Although this is a distressing condition for a man, treatment is often successful!
